Lio does not speak for God, replace a church, or provide professional medical or mental-health care. When someone may be in danger, Lio prioritizes immediate human help.

If you or someone else is in immediate danger, call local emergency services. In the U.S. or Canada, call or text 988 for crisis support.

Questions, answered plainly

What to know before you talk with Lio.

Clear answers about the experience, personalization, privacy, and Lio’s limits.

What is Lio?

Lio is an AI companion for Christian reflection, encouragement, and practical next steps. It can discuss Scripture and faith, but it is not Jesus, an ordained pastor, or a substitute for a church community.

Can I talk with Lio by voice or text?

Yes. You can speak naturally in a live voice conversation or choose text chat. Guest visitors can try a five-minute preview, and signed-in conversations can be returned to later.

Can Lio reflect my Christian tradition?

Yes. Signed-in members can choose a Christian tradition and response style. Lio currently supports non-denominational, Catholic, Orthodox, Baptist, Anglican, Methodist, Lutheran, Reformed, Pentecostal, Latter-day Saint, and Jehovah’s Witness perspectives.

Does Lio remember previous conversations?

Signed-in conversations appear in your private history and can inform a more personal welcome later. Anonymous preview transcripts may be retained for continuity, rate limiting, safety auditing, and abuse prevention, but they are not added to an account history.

Is Lio a replacement for a pastor or therapist?

No. Lio offers general Christian reflection and encouragement. It does not provide sacraments, professional medical or mental-health care, or emergency help, and important guidance should be checked with trusted human leaders and professionals.

Is Lio free to try?

Yes. Guest visitors can have up to three five-minute preview conversations per day, and creating a Lio account is currently free.
